Tracy and Daniel’s Glengariff Wedding | Brisbane Wedding Photographer

Tracy and Daniel met with me at the end of last year to talk about their upcoming wedding.  They are both such gentle souls.  You can see the amount of love that Daniel has for Tracy….whenever he looks at her or talks about her he beams with joy and pride.  They chose to have their wedding and reception at the gorgeous Glengariff Estate.  It was the most amazing day with not a cloud in the sky!  I asked them a few questions about how they met and about their beautiful day!

TELL US ABOUT HOW YOU BOTH MET AND FELL IN LOVE…

We met in 2003 or 2004 and we were both married at the time but not happily, and then didn’t see each other for years after, we had a mutual friend and we would often be at the same bbq’s. Dan was too shy to approach the question of dating and that mutual friend played matchmaker and said to Dan ‘I know someone who likes you’ and Dan guessed that it was me and after a week he gave me a call.  I had known he had my number all week and was waiting for the call. Was beginning to think he’d never call!  But he finally did!

We started dating in July 2009 and he proposed in 2011 at Ocean view estate on a cold winter’s night, by the fire in front of the whole restaurant. I knew he was up to something when he went to the inside toilet and put his jacket on before he went, I thought that was a bit odd, he came out and asked me to the fire and I’m thinking what for lol….. It was the happiest night of my life…

WHAT WAS YOUR CEREMONY LIKE? THE LOCATION, YOUR CELEBRANT etc…

Our ceremony was at Glengariff estate, our lovely celebrant was Geoff Mazlin who did a lovely job.

Walking up the isle to meet my future husband was the greatest feeling and so happy it wasn’t raining.

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF YOUR RECEPTION?

Reception was at Glengariff estate dayboro winery.  The food was a three coarse alternative drop.  Starting with canapés, then entrees of prawns and beef, main coarse of chicken and beef followed by wedding cake for desert and raspberry coulee.  Simon was our MC, and Dan’s Best Man Tony also did a speech.  Dan has known both for over twenty years.

WHAT WAS THE OVERALL THEME OR STYLE OF YOUR WEDDING?

Our theme was red, black and white flocked papers.

WHAT ABOUT YOUR DRESS, SHOES AND JEWELLERY/ACCESSORIES?  WE LOVE DETAILS!

My dress was from Brides of Brisbane at Chermside and was the third dress that I tried on in the first shop we looked at, great service.

My shoes I found at the 2nd shop.  Jewellery was bought at another bridal shop at morayfield, and the garter that I bought online was made of vintage lace.

Dan’s mum gave me a lace hankie she had made to walk down the aisle holding.

TELL US ABOUT DANIEL’S OUTFIT…

Dan and the boys’ suits came for Roger David at Chermside, Cuff links were presents for the boys with our initials on them, they came from a men’s shop at Strathpine.

GIVE US ALL THE DETAILS ABOUT YOUR BRIDESMAIDS…

The bridesmaids wore black, which we got from Super Store from Geebung, and the shoes were red from Zu at Chermside.  We chose for my bridesmaids people who we were the closest too and had been good friends with for a long time.

HOW DID THE WEDDING DAY MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS?

I think it met all of our expectations for how we wanted to have our day.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH EMOTIVE IMAGES ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?

Being in front of the camera was good but being pregnant at the time by the end I was a little tired but pleased with the finished product. Louise did a fab job.

WHAT WAS YOUR MOST FAVOURITE MEMORY OF THE WEDDING DAY?

Tracy:   Saying I do…

Dan:      Saying our vows.

WHAT WAS THE FUNNIEST THING THAT HAPPENED ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?

Tracy:    The limo wanting to do another run around the block and then going past the turn off and having to do a u turn on the bendy road.

Dan:      Dan’s flower falling to bits right when they said I had arrived…

WHAT IS THE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE THAT YOU WOULD GIVE FOR ANYONE PLANNING THEIR WEDDING?

Know what you want and breathe!!!

WHAT DID YOU THINK OF YOUR PHOTOS FROM EMOTIVE IMAGES WHEN YOU FIRST SAW THEM?

We though “How are we going to choose?” as we liked them all…

WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT YOU WILL SAY ABOUT YOUR PHOTOS IN 5 OR 10 YEARS TIME?

I’m sure we will be just as happy as we are now …

WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE PHOTO OUT TAKEN BY EMOTIVE IMAGES?

The one we are getting for our wall print…

FINAL WORDS…

We were happy with the way Louise handle our preparations and herself on the day, she was always there to answer any of our questions no matter how silly they were. Approachable and friendly and would recommend her to any future brides and grooms. Awesome!

THANK YOU TRACY AND DANIEL!  IT WAS AMAZING TO WORK WITH YOU BOTH ON THE DAY.  I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO VIEW YOUR WEDDING ALBUM!  IN THE MEANTIME, ENJOY THIS SELECTION OF YOUR GORGEOUS PHOTOS!

Tracy and Daniel also hired a wedding videographer to capture some really special moments for them both.  Wild Bunch Weddings were great to work with!  To see their wedding video, follow this link here.
