Recently I received a great blessing – I won a photo shoot with Louise Williams, of Emotive Images.  At first, I was a bit reticent – I was due to participate in the World’s Greatest Shave, I am approaching 50, and like many women at this stage in my life, am not entirely happy with my looks!  So the idea of a photo shoot was all a bit overwhelming.  Thankfully my quiet inner voice encouraged me to pursue an idea I had been pondering.

 

My dad passed away recently after a struggle with lung cancer and various medical complications.  I had spent many hours caring for him, and had dedicated my “Shave” to his memory.  So why not have some photos taken after my “shave” as a tribute to my dad.  When I mentioned this as an alternative to the “Boudoir” shoot, Louise was quick to embrace the idea and run with it.

 

She was warm and kind, insightful and understanding as we worked towards a photo shoot that would reflect my personality, and my dad.  The outcome was not only a very enjoyable, if not evocative, photo shoot, but some of the most wonderful photos!  As a mum, one is not quick to have portraits done of oneself – sure, we get our kids photographed all the time, but never consider the same for ourselves.

 

So to have these wonderful photos which capture so much of who I am, and also reflect my love and devotion to my dad and his memory is such a beautiful gift – a gift that Louise’s skill and artistic flair has given to me.  Thank you Louise!

I had a shoot with Emotive Images and i was very happy with Lou’s professionalism and photographic talent!
i was working with another model who hadn’t done any modelling before and i noticed how at ease Lou made her feel.

I  never would have thought I could do something like this, but when I thought of what to get my future husband as a wedding gift I knew it had to be something special and something that would last for years. So when I found the Emotive Images website and spent days going through the amazing photos over and over again, I knew it was the perfect gift to give him and also for me!

My photo session with Louise was like nothing I had ever done before! It was so much fun and so exciting, and even when I was feeling nervous about my body, or worried that I was posing the wrong way, Louise was amazingly patient and understanding, even turning her camera around so I could see what she was capturing in that moment!

I felt so good about myself for weeks after the photo shoot and so proud of myself for doing something like that!
When I met with Louise again for my viewing I could not believe the incredible photos that I was looking at were actually me! I would never have imagined that I could look like that! It was so hard picking my favourites, but once again Louise was so patient while we sorted through them, and my husband loved his gift as much as I loved the whole experience.

I would absolutely recommend a Boudoir shoot with Louise to anyone even considering it -It will make you feel so good about yourself and give you something that will last forever!

We had our wedding photographed by Emotive Images. Louise and Phil were extremely professional during both the wedding and love shoots and really made myself and my husband feel comfortable having our picture taken. This was an achievement as my husband usually pulls faces to get out of smiling for the camera. Louise was EXTREMELY PATIENT with my grandma, who loves taking photos, and managed to drag my grandmother away from her own camera so she could be photographed. She took beautiful photos of one of my bridesmaids, who normally cringes when looking at photographs taken of her, but she loved the photos taken by Louise and wanted to have them on display.

 

Louise was really flexible, taking on board our ideas for shoots and was happy to collaborate with us to incorporate special aspects/details into our album, which went through multiple drafts (it went into double digits!). We love our album and enjoyed the experience of working with Emotive Images and would recommend Louise to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Prior to having my Boudoir shoot with Louise, I absolutely hated having my photo taken. I never liked the way I looked, and I certainly never felt beautiful. However having this shoot with Louise has changed so many things for me.

 

Firstly I now have a set of unbelievably gorgeous photos of myself…that I am actually proud to show people (and do so at every opportunity) And because Louise make the whole Boudoir shoot such a positive, reassuring experience, I now also now feel a lot more confident about having my photo taken in everyday life. So thank you so much Louise! You truly are an amazing photographer!

My boudoir session with Louise was such a fun and empowering experience, I can’t recommend it enough to other women. Louise was so open and helpful through the whole process – happy to meet a number of times before the session to discuss my ideas on themes, outfits and location. I had such fun on the day and felt completely at ease, even while my body was contorted in some very odd positions! I never felt awkward or uncomfortable, and we had lots of laughs.

 

Then came the photos…. I was literally blown away at the viewing. I could not pick one photo that wasn’t gorgeous. Louise had exactly translated my ideas into truly beautiful photographs, so much more than I had hoped for. The images were fun, sexy but in such a tasteful way I would wallpaper my whole house with them if I could! While I had initially had the session as a gift for my husband-to-be, they turned out to be as much a gift to myself. My husband also thinks they’re pretty great (understatement of the year).

 

Louise, thank you again for the photos and the experience. I can’t recommend you enough to others and encourage women considering boudoir to know that far from being sleazy – I felt like a supermodel and smile each time I see the photos on our  wall.
