Melissa and Matthew booked me for their wedding day, earlier this year. They both live in England, so my first ever meeting in person with Melissa and Matthew was on the morning of their wedding day! Melissa is just an absolute sweetheart. The connections between her and her family and bridesmaid was just so beautiful. Matthew is an absolute character and you can just tell that he is totally in love with Melissa. I caught myself half way through the morning just stopping for a moment and feeling quite philosophical about the day. The location, the people and the emotion running through the day is exactly why I photograph weddings. The Spotted Chook is like an absolute dream for me! The colour and character of the location was just gorgeous! The Spotted Chook also offer accommodation for people looking for a weekend away, so if you are looking for somewhere to go that is really cosy and beautiful, then this is the place for you!
Melissa and Matthew organised their own cake for the day, in the shape of many individual cupcakes with strawberries on top. Melissa’s dress was to-die-for and absolutely matched the feeling of the day.
I always enjoy listening to Val Downes during a ceremony. She has such a gentle and supportive presence. A really beautiful lady with a kind spirit.
There is not much more that I can say, that the photos below cannot easily show you as to how their day unfolded. I have many favourites below, but my all time favourites would have to be the images taken in the hallway with colours of blue and green. Enjoy!
The vendors on the day were:
Ceremony and Reception - The Spotted Chook
Hair - Rolling Scissors
Makeup - Glamour Professional Makeup Artists
Celebrant - Val Downes

Kylie - They are just stunning photos Lou!! What a gorgeous couple – looks like they made your job easy, obviously very natural in front of the camera and very much in love. Well done!!
