Family is everything | Brisbane Photographer

I ventured up to North Queensland a few months ago, to see my parents and go back to the place where I grew up.  Both of my parents are getting older, and they needed some help in getting their house cleaned up.  A new lick of paint in some rooms, and cleaning out the gardens helped them out immensely.  It is really something you know, when you start to see your parents for what they really are….which is just people….like you and me……..and that they are getting older….   It is a very grounding experience, going back home…..away from the bustle of the city…..and just stopping….and seeing how things have changed.

My parents have a beautiful Birman cat, which I think has been the very thing that has filled the empty nest syndrome for them, once myself and my brother left home.  Her name is Coco…..and she is my ‘sister’ *lol* :)  Birmans have the most beautiful blue eyes!  We also have our own Birman at home.  Her name is Melodie.  I might upload some photos of her sometime in the future:)  As you tell, I am a cat person….  But I also have a soft spot for dogs:)

I grew up in a small country town in North Queensland which is known for its cane farms, and awesome cane fires.  I took some photos while up there.  My dad works very closely with most of the cane farms in the region, so he knew where to go to find ourselves a great cane fire:)  I tell you what though, I wouldn’t want to be that guy lighting the fire……very dangerous job that one…

Taking a break from painting walls and stripping wallpaper (evil evil evil stuff), I tried a bit of an arty shot in a few brief seconds I had spare….

We also had some time to visit Townsville…..my old stamping ground through University days:)  Townsville really is very beautiful.  I love visiting there, although, I do love coming back to Brisbane also hehe

One thing I learnt from my trip up north…..is….No matter how busy you get….don’t forget to enrich those connections with family and friends…..NO MATTER WHAT!:)

Thanks for letting me show you a little bit about me behind the scenes….

Take care

Louise
